Location Midtown (Grand Central Station) (New York)
65 W 54th St General information![]() What to expect: Since its 1927 opening by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, the Warwick has preserved its historic status—and distinctive façade—among Midtown's glass-and-steel buildings. The classically styled hotel provides a homey environment for both business travelers and vacationers, with an attentive staff, central location, and such relaxing touches as subdued lighting in the marble lobby. Amenity highlights: The Warwick's Continental restaurant, Ciao Italia, serves three meals daily, and the picture windows of the cocktail lounge, Randolph's, make it a great spot for people-watching. The hotel's fitness center contains weightlifting and exercise equipment, and the business center offers complete services. Businesses, shops, Broadway shows, and Central Park are a stroll away. Insider tip: Admission to the nearby Museum of Arts & Design is pay-what-you-wish on Thursday nights. In addition to exhibits focusing on contemporary design and craft, the museum features a unique gift and jewelry shop. Property amenitiesThe business center provides complimentary computer use, Internet access, faxing, copying, and secretarial services. Guest relations managers, fluent in several languages, are also on hand to assist visitors. Guests can use the fitness room for a daily fee, and the hotel's welcome materials include a map of jogging routes in Central Park. Policies Children 12 and under may stay free; there is an additional charge for children 13 and older.
Dining![]() Ciao Italia - The Warwick's restaurant, warmly decorated with its original exploration-themed murals from the 1930s, serves Continental cuisine with a selection of Italian dishes. Steaks, seafood, and pasta are represented on the menu, along with daily specials and an American-style breakfast buffet. The table layout makes the restaurant comfortable for small groups as well as for solo diners. Three meals are served daily. Randolph's Bar & Lounge - This street-level cocktail bar—opened in 1997 and designed with a subtle rose motif—has a relaxed atmosphere, with large windows presenting a view of the lively corner of 54th Street and Sixth Avenue. The lounge offers a specialty martini list and a bar menu for lunch and dinner, and features an extra room for parties. Complimentary hot and cold hors d'oeuvres are served during happy hour, 5 to 7 PM, Monday through Friday. Rooms![]() The hotel has 426 rooms, all of which are decorated with European-toned details such as botanical or landscape prints, English floral bedspreads, biscuit-colored wallpaper, and mahogany furniture. They are equipped with cable TV and HBO and two dual-line phones. Each room also contains a large work desk, minibar, and electric safe. All bathrooms are marble, with pedestal-style fixtures and French toiletries.
