The SceneThe chief characteristic distinguishing Potion from other Upper West Side bars is the decor, which lies somewhere between Aquaman's boudoir and "Deep Space Nine." Percolating walls of blue bubbles surround the dark room, and the bartop is dotted with illuminated circles that make the multi-color drinks glow. The DrawThe house signature solutions, which go for $10 or so, are in fact called Potions. Highly recommended are the uncanny Ocean Potion (Malibu rum, Blue Curacao, pineapple and lime juice) and the Cosmo-Potion (basically a Technicolor vodka and cranberry that makes you feel lucky and grants you +20 charisma).
