New York City NightclubsRemy LoungeYou won't find Soho-on-Wall Street here, and that's a good thing.
Latin FlavaDJ Eddie Batiz's club doesn't offer anything remarkable by way of decor--in fact, the upstairs "dining" room looks downright shabby and the fake shingle "roof" over the downstairs bar has got to go. However, the true class of this place is revealed by the fact that its upscale, largely Latin crowd simply couldn't care less. Diverse and unpretentious, there's an inviting feel to this cool little joint--an impressive ambience, given the dearth of cultural offerings in the whitewashed Wall Street district. Latin GroovesKick it on the comfy couches or bump it on the dance floor, depending on the club's ever-changing musical flow (check Ray Vasquez's energetic mix of Top 40 house, hip-hop and Latin pop grooves on Thursday nights). Regular weekly offerings include salsa and merengue on Wednesday nights and Atrevete Saturdays (a Latin club party); live musical guests pop in regularly as well. Dios mio--was that Ricky? Don't "Just Do It"A strict no-sneakers, no-jeans policy at the door ensures that the only casual element is attitude. Fine SpiritsTry Cuban cuisine and cocktails at Isla. 104 Greenwich St. |
