New York City Nightlife – PubsTailors HallPart of a great trove of unexpected Irish treasure located just outside Manhattan.
The SceneOne can take comfort in the fact that no backwards-hat-wearing boys trolling for a hook-up will be found in Sunnyside's Tailors Hall. The neighborhood has a large Irish population of expats looking for a little bit of home, and pubs like this are where they find it. The SettingUpon entering the bar, it's easy to imagine that you've been transported to a serene corner of County Cork. The walls are lined with old books and the bar's low lighting is augmented by iron fixtures and chandeliers sporting candles. Get a pint from the bartender and you have two options: Strike up a conversation with the fine Irish lad or lass next to you at the bar, or grab a cozy table in front of one of the two working fireplaces. Tete-a-tetesThe back fireplace is located in an intimate corner of the bar, perfect for little trysts. Tailors Hall also has a couple of communal-style tables that encourage getting to know your neighbor. After all, one doesn't go to a public house to drink alone. 4515 Queens Blvd |
